  • Challenging questions for you to reflect on

This year, I went all in on my solo travel plans and ended up spending 10 days in Miami!

I’ve never felt entirely comfortable traveling alone. The idea of going to a restaurant by myself used to make me feel awkward. But looking back, I now realize that was more of a limiting belief than reality.

"I Used to Travel Solo More Often"

When I was younger, solo adventures were actually a big part of my life.

At 12 years old, I did three "solo" trips:

  • I went on a two-week camp to Italy without knowing anyone.
  • I won an art competition and got a week-long trip to Lithuania as a prize.
  • I traveled to Germany for a weekend to visit an amusement park.

And later, in university, I took a huge step—a six-month student exchange in Spain.

Looking at it now, I realize that I used to be more independent as a kid than I am now. It's time to change that!

A Powerful Reflection Question

During my trip, I received Amanda Goetz Life's a Game newsletter, where she talked about the importance of solo time. One of the reflection questions she shared really hit me:

Who would I be if I weren’t playing the roles I play in my life now—partner, dog mom, sister, daughter, etc.?

And honestly? My answer was clear:

💡 I would travel.
💡 I would work and explore the world.

I already travel quite a bit, both for work and personally, but I still feel like I need more—more challenging trips, more adventurous experiences.

One of the highlights of my trip was exploring Florida’s state parks. Walking along empty beaches and being surrounded by nature was the perfect way to spend my time. I’ve always felt most alive near the water.

And speaking of the best moments—my boat trip? Hands down, the best day of my entire trip!

Takeaway #1: Make Travel About Me!

What does that mean?

✅ Non-negotiable: An annual 10–14-day solo trip in a warm, nature-filled destination near the sea or ocean (because that’s what I need). I will budget for this every year—no matter what!
✅ Bonus solo time: I’ll also plan 1–2 solo weekends per year for additional reflection space.

💡
Challenging question for you:

I want to challenge you to reflect on Amanda’s question:

💡 If you weren’t playing the roles you play in your life right now, what would you do? Where would you be?

Based on your answer, think about how you can bring more of that YOU into your current life.

Being Open to Opportunities!

I’ll be honest—I was a bit unsure about this trip at first. I expected Miami to be fun, but I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy it fully by myself.

At the same time, I told myself to stay open to whatever opportunities this trip could bring. And that mindset made all the difference.

The very first morning, I went for a casual jog on Miami Beach and saw a group of 30 people getting ready for a workout on the sand.

I was curious, so I sat down nearby. And then—one of them asked me:

“Do you want to join us?”

Of course, I said YES!

I ended up training with them for 75 minutes and then we all went for breakfast together.

The next day? I joined them again!

Takeaway #2: Opportunities Will Show Up—If You’re Open to Them

Especially when you travel solo.

When you’re alone, your only focus is YOU—which makes you more open to noticing opportunities around you.

💡
Challenging question for you:

What’s something you feel a little afraid of doing?
Now think of 1–2 small ways you can shift your focus and spot opportunities around you.

The Perfect Day: Manifesting My Own Sunset

Another amazing day started with a workout—but this time, with my business coach, who lives in Miami. That workout set me up with a powerful mindset for the rest of the day.

I had a boat trip scheduled—six people plus our captain, Nico. We went snorkeling, explored islands, and relaxed in the sun. Basically, my perfect kind of day!

At one point, when we were about to head back to the harbor, I casually said to Nico:

“You know what would make this trip even better? If we stayed until sunset.”

And then—something crazy happened.

Right as we were about to dock, Nico told us that Monica and Mike (two people from our group) had actually booked a sunset cruise and were inviting all of us to join!

Of course, I said YES!

That second boat trip turned out to be even better than the first. We got to see Miami from the water at sunset, and it was absolutely breathtaking.

After that, I went for dinner with Monica and Mike.

It was simply the perfect day.

Takeaway #3: You Attract Who You Are!

I attracted the best people to that boat trip. I was in a positive mindset, open to new experiences, and ready to connect with others.

And I ended up manifesting my own sunset.

The best part? I stayed in touch with Nico and will definitely book another trip with him when I’m back in Miami. And as for Monica and Mike—they recently bought a house in Spain…so I might be seeing them sooner than expected!

💡
Challenging question for you:

How do you want to attract people into your life this weekend?
How do you need to show up to make that happen?

Think of 1–2 small things you can do to create meaningful interactions.

(It can be as simple as complimenting someone in a coffee shop and starting a conversation!)

Closing Thoughts

This trip gave me so much clarity—not just about travel, but about how I want to keep growing in my coaching business.

I had plenty of time to reflect, and I can’t wait to share more updates with you soon. New things are launching later this year—so stay tuned!

For now, I want to leave you with this:

💡 Your solo moments matter.
💡 Opportunities are everywhere—if you stay open.
💡 You attract what you put out into the world.

So… how are you showing up for yourself today?
