đ¨ Year End Reflections (not only) for Corporate (ex)Consultants
At a Glance:
- 7 questions to ask yourself before year-end
- What to do next?
Journaling, reflections⌠something that seems a bit âoffâ for people who work in consulting. I know, itâs usually about data, analysis, and hard proof of something. So there is not much space for reflections, emotions, and feelings.
Iâve been there. But I know itâs not the right approach.(Easier to say now, being in a different place, but at least I can share my perspective.)
These are questions I'm asking myself now, and I know they would have helped me if I had been thinking about them in the past. But really thinking and reflecting. Not chasing another project deadline while having some thoughts in my mind.
Question 1
What moments in life have brought you real joy?Big or small, it doesnât matter. What were those things or moments? Were you feeling that you were alive then? Were you laughing? Having fun? What was so good about them?
What can you do to have more of that JOY next year?

Question 7

Reflection TimeâŚ
Look at your responses. How much of them are related to your job or career?
How many of those related to it are positive factors and emotions? How many of those are negative and draining emotions?
Imagine itâs a year laterâŚWhat decision or goals can you set now to make your reflections next year more positive around your career and job? What needs to happen to make it a great year for you?
I hope these will make you sit down and reflect.
Tip: Make sure you give yourself proper time to think about these questions and write down your responses. Trust meâit DOES make a difference!
